MCP Instructions
MCP instructions
Quick Summary: Connect a supported AI assistant to your FedEx account from Account Management > Integrations when that connection is available.
Overview
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) connection lets a supported assistant query your account during a chat. Sign in through the browser with your own FedEx account. Portal access resolves one active account from that sign-in.
The setup panel lists the tools currently available to that account. Each entry is marked Read‑only or Can make changes. Change-capable tools are available only when enabled for the connection. If the panel shows only Read‑only tools, make changes in the Portal.
Prerequisites
- A supported assistant that can connect to a remote MCP server. Follow the provider instructions for its current clients and plans.
- Your own FedEx user account, linked to one active account, with access to the information you want to use.
- Provider and workspace controls that allow the connection. A workspace administrator may need to enable it first.
Quick start
- Open your username menu, then select Account Management.
- Select Integrations.
- Select Codex for ChatGPT or desktop agents, or Claude for Claude.
- Follow the setup steps for your assistant in the panel.
- Complete the browser sign-in and approve your account.
- Ask the assistant to run
tools/list. Review the Read‑only and Can make changes labels.
Note: If the assistant options are missing, contact your Account Manager.
Caution: Never paste a password, authorization code, or access token into a chat. Use the browser sign-in that the assistant opens.

FAQ
Can the assistant change my orders or account? Only when the setup panel and assistant list a Can make changes tool. Review each proposed change before approval. Otherwise, make the change in the Portal.
Why is a tool missing? The connection follows your user access, account features, the active account, and deployment settings. Check the setup panel, then ask your company administrator about your access or your Account Manager about features.
Which plan do I need? Plan and workspace requirements come from the assistant provider. Follow the provider setup shown in the panel. Some workspaces also require an administrator to enable the connection.
Why did the assistant stop answering? The provider may apply chat, usage, or plan limits. Use the reset information shown by the provider, start a new chat, or continue in the Portal for immediate access.
Does the assistant see other accounts? No. The Portal resolves one active account for the signed-in user. It refuses the connection when multiple active accounts are found.
How do I disconnect the assistant? Remove the connection in your provider settings. Confirm that it is no longer available in a new chat. If access appears to remain, ask qa-testing+operations@floship.com to check it.
Who do I contact for help? Contact qa-testing+operations@floship.com or your Account Manager.

|---|---|---|
| The assistant options are missing | The connection is not available for this account | Contact your Account Manager or qa-testing+operations@floship.com |
| The tool list is unavailable | The account-wide tool list could not be loaded | Select Retry. If it still fails, copy the setup prompt and ask the agent to check available tools |

| The assistant cannot connect | The connection address is wrong | Copy the address from the setup panel and try again |
| A tool is missing | Your user access or account feature is unavailable | Ask your company administrator about access or your Account Manager about features |
| A change-capable tool is missing | Change-capable tools are not enabled for the connection | Ask your Account Manager whether they are available |
