Tracking: Overview

Tracking

Quick Summary: Monitor shipment tracking across all couriers from one place.

Overview

The Tracking section lets you monitor shipment progress for all your fulfilled orders. Once an order is shipped, a tracking number is assigned by the courier and Floship automatically collects tracking updates — giving you a single place to see where every package is, regardless of which courier was used.

You can access tracking through Tracking → Order Tracking in the top menu. If your account has Client Tracking enabled, you will also see a second submenu for tracking external shipments.

How Tracking Works

  1. Order is fulfilled — The warehouse ships your package and a tracking number is assigned
  2. Tracking begins automatically — Floship registers the tracking number and starts collecting updates from the courier
  3. Updates flow in — Every status change, scan, and location update is recorded and displayed in the portal
  4. You stay informed — View current status, full event history, and a map of the package journey

Tip: You can also check tracking directly on the courier's website using the Tracking URL link on any shipment.

Tracking Statuses

Each shipment moves through a series of statuses as it progresses toward delivery:

Status Meaning
Pending Tracking number registered, no information from the courier yet
Info Received Courier has received shipment information but does not have the package yet
In Warehouse Package is at a courier facility or sorting centre
In Transit Package is on the way to the destination
Out For Delivery Package is with the local delivery driver
Delivered Package has been delivered to the recipient
Attempt Fail A delivery attempt was made but failed (e.g., no one home)
Exception Something unexpected happened — check tracking details
On Hold Shipment is held by the courier (customs, address issue, etc.)
Expired Tracking information is no longer being updated by the courier
Not found Courier does not recognise the tracking number
Lost Package has been confirmed lost by the courier
Returned Package has been returned to the sender

Note: Not all couriers use every status. The statuses you see depend on the courier handling your shipment.

Quick Start

  1. Navigate to Tracking → Order Tracking
  2. Find your shipment by tracking number, order number, or customer reference
  3. Review the Tracking Status badge next to each tracking number
  4. Click a tracking number to see the full event history and map
  5. Use the Tracking URL link to check the courier's own tracking page

What You Can Track

Order Tracking

All fulfilled orders appear in the Order Tracking list. This is where you monitor shipments that Floship handles — from warehouse to delivery.

See Order Tracking for the full guide.

Client Tracking

If your account has Client Tracking enabled, you can also submit and monitor tracking numbers for shipments outside the normal Floship order flow — for example, shipments from other carriers or external sources.

See Client Tracking for details.

Note: If you don't see Client Tracking in your menu, contact your Account Manager to enable it.

Key Concepts

Tracking Number — Unique identifier assigned by the courier to track a package through delivery.

Tracking Event — A status update or scan from the courier showing package location and status at a point in time.

Tracking URL — A direct link to the courier's own tracking page for a specific shipment.

Days In Transit — How many days the package has been in transit since the first scan.

Days Since Last Update — How many days since the courier last provided a tracking update. High numbers may indicate a stuck shipment.

Return to Sender (RTS) — When a courier returns a package to the sender due to delivery failures, invalid address, or other issues.

FAQ's

How soon after fulfillment does tracking appear? Tracking numbers are registered automatically when an order is fulfilled. The first courier scan typically appears within 24-48 hours , depending on the courier.

Can I track shipments on the courier's website directly? Yes. Every tracking entry includes a Tracking URL that links directly to the courier's own tracking page.

What does the "Exception" status mean? An exception means the courier reported a problem — this could be a failed delivery attempt, customs hold, address issue, or damage. Click the tracking number to see the specific message from the courier.

What happens if a package is returned to sender? The tracking status changes to Returned and a return-to-sender indicator appears next to the tracking number. If auto-return is configured on your account, a return order may be created automatically.
