Product Bulk Upload
Quick Summary: Upload or update many products at once with a CSV or XLSX file.
Overview
Use product uploads to create products, change selected fields, or update customs values by country. Your account needs inventory read and write access. The + menu requires write access; all three upload types require both access types.
Quick start
- Open Inventory → Products.
- Select +, then choose the upload operation.
- Select Download Template.
- Fill in the template with the exact column names.
- Choose or drag the completed CSV or XLSX file.
- Select Submit. Processing and validation start now.
- Review the results and fix invalid rows.
- Complete Confirm HS codes when it appears.
- Select Save after the upload is valid.

Download the template
Click Download Template to get ItemTemplate.xlsx.
Keep the downloaded headers. Add optional fields with their exact names.
Character limits and input formats
New product SKUs follow your account's configured rules. Standard accounts use 20 characters; legacy accounts use 20 characters. See Product and Order Field Limits for the character set.
Description and Customs Description must contain at least 10 characters and one space.

Multi-line products
Add one row for each unit type. Reuse the product SKU and change Unit Type.

Check upload results
Selecting a file does not start validation. Select Submit to process the file and validate every row.
Use the Valid and Invalid filters to review the results. Download the results file when you need a local copy. Fix invalid rows, create a new upload, and submit it again.
Save applies the upload only when its status is valid.
Confirm multi-country HS codes
If any row enables Multi Country HS Code, the results show Confirm HS codes.
- Select Confirm HS codes.
- Review each suggested mapping and choose the destination country.
- Select Confirm. If prompted, select Yes, I want to apply.
- Wait for the success message and return to the results.
- Select Save.
The Save button can become available when the HS-code window opens. An enabled button does not prove the confirmation finished. If you cancel that window, refresh the results before selecting Save.
Common validation errors

Product Bulk Update
Use Product Bulk Update to change selected fields on existing products. The SKU column identifies each row and is required. Include only the fields you want to change.
For cartons and pallets, also include Unit Type. Omitted measurement columns keep their current values, including for foldability-only updates.
Download Template provides the existing full product template. Remove columns you do not want to change. Copy other headers exactly from the available-fields table in the upload window.
For foldability-only changes, select Download foldability example in the Foldability row. This downloads ProductBulkUpdate-Foldability.xlsx with only SKU*, Unit Type, and Foldability. It needs no additional measurements for any existing unit type.

CPSC fields
Use CPSC columns on Base Item rows. The product form uses the same rules:
- Reference: provide Certifier ID and Version ID. Leave Disclaimer and Intended Use fields blank.
- Disclaimer: provide A or B and an Intended Use Code. Leave Certifier ID and Version ID blank.
980.000also needs an Intended Use Description. - Not configured: leave every CPSC field blank. Product ID alone is not a complete filing.
- Product ID: works with either method. A blank value uses the product SKU.
Omit a CPSC column to keep its current value. To clear or change a filing, include all CPSC columns with the intended values. Clearing a required value without a complete replacement method fails validation.
Insurance value behavior
- A blank Insurance Value (USD) cell clears the current value.
- Omitting the column keeps the current value.
Foldability behavior
The optional Foldability column sets a separate value for the unit named in Unit Type. The foldability example has a dropdown with the labels below.

Labels ignore letter case and surrounding spaces. The import also accepts these exact values: rigid, firm, flexible, and very_flexible.
A blank cell or omitted column keeps the current value. An unknown value fails that row. The packer uses the recorded dimensions; thicker items allow fewer folds. Foldability adds packing options without changing stored dimensions or weight and does not add another input field.
Upload Customs Values
Use this operation to set product customs values for individual destination countries.
How to update customs values
- Select + → Upload Customs Values.
- Select Download Template to get ItemCustomsTemplate.xlsx.
- Fill every required column.
- Choose or drag the CSV or XLSX file.
- Select Submit to start processing and validation.
- Review the results, then select Save when the upload is valid.

Troubleshooting

NS-PID
NS-PID stores the Non-Standardised Manufacturer PID: an internal code, model number, part number, or style number assigned by the manufacturer or brand owner. It is optional and accepts up to 200 characters .
Edit it on the product form or import it using the NS-PID spreadsheet column on Base Item rows. The previous full column name, Non-Standardised Manufacturer PID (NS-PID), is also accepted. Format cells as Text to preserve leading zeros. For bulk updates, a blank cell clears the value; omitting the column keeps it. Values are stored exactly as entered, including whitespace, and duplicate values are allowed. On eligible commercial invoices and in FedEx product identifiers, a nonblank NS-PID supplies NS-PID exactly as entered. If NS-PID is blank or contains only whitespace, NS-PID uses SKU. S-PID always uses UPC independently of NS-PID; if UPC is missing, the existing placeholder is used. NS-PID is not included in product exports.
