Tracking: Overview

Tracking

Quick Summary: Follow shipment status and checkpoint history for tracked orders.

Overview

Use Tracking → Order Tracking to review shipments handled by FedEx. If Client Tracking is enabled, the same menu also lets you track shipments that are outside the normal order flow.

Tracking information depends on the shipping provider. Some shipments receive updates soon after handoff; others take longer to report their first scan.

How tracking works

When a tracking number is associated with a shipment, FedEx retrieves the latest status and checkpoint events reported by the shipping provider. The portal shows that information on the order and in the tracking detail.

Tracking status describes the latest provider update. The order's Status describes its fulfillment stage. They can differ while the shipment is moving.

Bulk tracking updates

Some shipping providers send several shipment updates together. When those updates are applied, the affected order shows the new tracking status and checkpoint events.

You do not need to do anything in the portal. Reopen or refresh the tracking detail to view the latest information. If the provider confirms an update that is still missing, contact qa-testing+operations@floship.com with the order number, tracking number, provider name, and reported status.

Quick start

  1. Open Tracking → Order Tracking.
  2. Search for the shipment.
  3. Review its Tracking Status and latest update.
  4. Open the tracking number to review checkpoint history and the map.
  5. When a tracking link is shown on the order, open it to view the shipping provider's own page.

What you can track

Order Tracking

The Order Tracking list shows orders with supported tracking information, including eligible fulfilled shipments. Use it to review status, latest updates, and checkpoint history for each shipment.

See Order Tracking for the full guide.

Client Tracking

If your account has Client Tracking enabled, you can also submit and monitor tracking numbers for shipments outside the normal FedEx order flow, such as shipments from other carriers or external sources.

See Client Tracking for details.

Note: If you don't see Client Tracking in your menu, contact your Account Manager to enable it.

Updated On: The date and time of the latest tracking update, with the number of days since that update.

Return to Sender (RTS): A return indicator shown when the shipping provider reports that the shipment is going back to the sender.

Troubleshooting

Tracking shows Exception The provider reported a delivery issue Open the tracking detail to review the checkpoint and provider message
Portal status differs from the provider's page The portal uses the latest update it has received Check again later; contact qa-testing+operations@floship.com if the difference persists
